How to Submit a Card to Beckett (BGS) for Grading: 2025 Guide

Beckett Grading Services (BGS) is the go-to for collectors who want that iconic black label and sub-grades broken out by category. Here's the current, step-by-step process for getting a card submitted in 2025.
Step 1: Create a Beckett Account
- Go to beckett.com and register for a free account if you don't already have one.
- Sign in and head to the Submit or Grading section to start your submission.
Step 2: Fill Out the Online Submission Form
- Select Card Grading and choose your service level — Economy, Standard, Express, or Priority — which affects turnaround time and cost.
- Enter each card's details: year, set, player, card number, and declared value. This determines your insurance coverage and service tier.
- Confirm your return shipping address and payment method.
Step 3: Print Your Submission Confirmation
- Complete your submission online and print the packing slip or confirmation page Beckett provides.
- Make sure this paperwork goes in your shipment — handwritten forms aren't accepted.
Step 4: Carefully Package Your Cards
- Place each card in a new penny sleeve, then into a semi-rigid holder like a Card Saver I (not a top loader).
- Group cards (5–8 per bundle) into team bags or graded card sleeves, then sandwich between two pieces of cardboard secured with rubber bands.
- Wrap the bundle in bubble wrap and place it in a sturdy box with extra filler — paper or more bubble wrap works well.
- Include your printed submission form in the package.
Step 5: Ship to Beckett
- Use a trackable, insured shipping method (FedEx, UPS, or USPS) and print the address directly from the Beckett submission site.
- Address the package to "BGS" or "Beckett," as recommended, for smooth delivery.
- Hold onto your tracking numbers and shipping receipts.
Step 6: Track and Receive Your Results
Monitor your grading status through your Beckett account — you'll get notifications when your cards arrive and when final grades are posted. Once grading is complete, your cards ship back to the address you provided.
Following these steps keeps your cards protected in transit and moving smoothly through Beckett's process. If you're weighing PSA against BGS for a specific card, reach out — we've submitted to both and are glad to talk through which makes sense for your card.
